Currency & Exchange

The currency of Jamaica is the Jamaican dollar (JMD). In general, most products and services in the tourist resort areas; and at facilities targeted at overseas' visitors, are priced in United States dollars (US$). Also, the major currencies (Great Britain Pounds, Canadian Dollars, Euros, etc.) and credit cards; are widely accepted at these areas and facilities. In some cases, it might not be necessary to exchange your funds for local currency.

Should you need to convert funds to the local currency, Licensed foreign exchange service providers/Cambios (located mainly at airports), commercial banks, building, societies and credit unions are accessible in the main towns, across the Island.

Below we have provided a website link to daily exchange rates of the Jamaican dollar against major world currencies.
